My neighbour Vincent Mac Cearán is one of the few remaining traditional basket makers in Ireland. He has specialized in the manufacture of baskets and other items as they have been used and produced for centuries on the island. He has a diploma in “Training and Education”, is a very patient teacher and his lessons are spiced with great wit and stories from the island. It is a pleasure to work with him and to bring a few of these archaic baskets home.
